This gulf in the Mediterranean Sea, part of the relatively unknown Costa Calida, is surrounded by mountains which protect it from the colder northern winds.  Its 49 km of coastline, of which only 16 km are urbanized, enjoy an all year long micro-climate with an average year temperature of 20 degrees Celsius and water temperature 5 degrees over the Mediterranean average.
